“WE TRUST IN GOD THAT, SHOULD THE STATE OF OUR AFFAIRS REQUIRE IT, WE SHALL BE READY TO SACRIFICE OUR ESTATES AND EVERYTHING DEAR IN LIFE, YEA AND LIFE ITSELF, IN SUPPORT OF THE COMMON CAUSE.”
– The Minuteman Oath
A number of events for 2020 have been canceled or postponed due to Coronavirus:
Bedford Pole Capping – Merriam’s Corner Exercise – Concord & Lexington Patriots Day Parades
We will reschedule certain events if feasible/appropriate. We are sad to forego these beloved annual traditions, but given the circumstances, it’s the right thing to do.
The Bedford Minuteman Company is a marching and ceremonial unit devoted to bringing the history of the American Revolution to life.
We are dedicated to keeping our colonial heritage alive and honoring the Bedford Flag, the first Battle Flag to fly over the Colonials in the Revolution.
The Company accomplishes these goals by using the uniforms and accoutrements of 1775 and participating in ceremonies, parades, musters, performances and educational activities, and by contributing to scholarships to Bedford students.
The modern incarnation of the Bedford Minuteman Company was formed in 1964 and has mustered annually to bring history to life, to celebrate the ideals and actions of the original Bedford Minutemen, and bear constant witness to the power and strength of regular citizens united in common cause.
